Adware Software is any computer application in which advertisements are displayed. These advertisements can take many forms, such as pop-ups, pop-unders, or banners.
Spyware generally enters your PC via infected websites or through some software you downloaded, or it may also be present in a zip archive attached to your email. But Adware Software is most often included with other software that delivers various forms of advertising, such as pop-up ads. It is designed to direct specific ads to users based on the personal information it collects.
Adware Software collects information about your internet habits normally for the purpose of targeted advertising. The software monitors your internet activity and transmits relevant data back to an advertising agency, and this gives a marketer a quick, easy and cost effective way to find peoples needs.

Adware and related infections regularly come from porn sites.
The detection of Adware Software is often difficult because they are not just like any other programs which are visible to us when we perform the search function on the computer, they come through some other program, so the actual detection of these infections can take some time.
Adware and spyware are not considered to be Viruses, so they can slip right through the detection net of your virus scanner.
